JOB DESCRIPTIONS

 

Computer Timing (2 people each half) - People to set timing computer for each race and watch for swimmers to touch pads correctly and run/reset computer per race.  (Home meets only)

 

Finish Judge (1 (home) 2 (away) person per half) - Person responsible to record the race finishes in order by lanes, but not in exhibition races.

 

Stroke and Turn Judge (2 people each half) - Person who judges and makes call on correct use of strokes and proper turns.  Disqualifies swimmer if needed and explains disqualification to swimmers. Must be PIAA, NCIA, USA or CPAL Certified for winter season and Mid-Penn Certified for summer season.

 

Scorer Table (1 person per half) - Verifies places of each individual race and assigns a point value earned for that place. Work with individual from opposing team. Tabulates meet score. 

 

Ribbon Table (3 people per half) This job consists of peeling a label and filing ribbons in PAC ribbon box. On occasion ribbons will have to be handwritten.

 

Timers (6 people per half) - Using hand held stopwatch and recording times/swimmers name on lane tablets for swimmer in each lane.

 

Back-Up Timer (1 per half) - Back-up timer for all lanes   (Home meets only)

 

8U Additional Timers (6 for 8 & under races only) - Uses hand held stopwatch and joins other two timers per lane. Also needed to help 8 & under relays teams get positioned in lanes/water. (Home meets only)

 

Runners (2 people per half) - After each event is over, a runner gathers lane sheets and delivers to scorer table. (Home meets only)

 

Swimmer Coordinator (3 people per half) - Helps to direct the younger swimmers to the starting blocks for their events.

 

Food Stand (4 to 5 people per half) - Home meets only. Helps to setup food stand, sell food, and helps tear down after meets. (Home meets only)

 

Computer Entry Person (2 people per half) - Enter/verify swimmers times and print out labels for ribbon writers. (Home meets only)
