I grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania with my mom, dad and sister Val. My initial interest in swimming came at the age of 10 when I began swimming competitively for the Millcreek Swim Team and eventually for, McDowell High School as well. While in High School, I developed an interest for water polo and eventually fell in love with the sport. During my senior year of high school, I made the all-state team and received a scholarship to play water polo at Slippery Rock University. I later enrolled at Ohio Northern University where I completed my law degree and after passing the bar exam, moved to Lebanon to begin my career as a public defender.
My interest in coaching first began while in college when I taught swim lessons. I wanted to teach the skills I learned and pass them on to others. My proudest moments as a coach are seeing the excitement on the kids' faces when they master a new skill and seeing the smiles on the swimmer's face after they complete a race.
